Application Development

The Vonlink MediaLogic Platform allows customers and third parties to develop applications in a variety of languages, including JavaScript, Java, C++, Python, Ruby, C# or any other .NET language. Development tools include a web-based Application Studio as well as desktop software integrated into Visual Studio.NET. (Java / Eclipse integration is coming soon.) Additionally, web-based tools are available to manage audio, video and other assets including resources such as grammars and custom pronunciations for speech recognition and text-to-speech.

The Platform provides VoIP technologies at several levels of abstraction - from low-level signaling and media processing to high-level script-based application development - providing the developer with the power to balance simplicity vs. feature sets when developing new applications.

Unlike applications developed using XML-based voice scripting languages (such as CCXML and VoiceXml), full debugging capabilities are available through the web-based Application Studio or Visual Studio.NET. Developers can step through code, set breakpoints, watch variables, and update code at runtime. This leads to fast, flexible development that meshes with a customer's existing development methods and can plug into existing software very easily.
